Stopped working after a few weeks
The cartridge worked well for a few weeks. Then suddenly the printer stopped recognizing it. The ink levels were over 75%.The printer would not even print in black unless I removed the color cartridge. Disappointed.

HP 63 color cartridge
My printer uses bot the 63 Black & 63 Color cartridges. I used to by them both in a combo package but apparently HP does not sell them like that but individually. Makes me quite disappointed.

I don't want XL
My personal experience is that XL does not last twice as long as regular. I want to be able to buy regular (non-XL).

99.5% of the time I print in draft black. That said it just seems to me that this Tri-Color is also tapped in to when I only use black. I don't understand any other reason why the Tri-Color wouldn't last me years otherwise. But as far as cartridges go I always purchase OEM.

Hi Robert I am sorry that you have had this experience. I can understand your disappointment when the cartridges seem to run out too quickly. Perhaps you were printing denser printouts with this cartridge. Ink usage determines how long it lasts. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry. Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage: - Set the printer to draft mode whenever possible - Shut the printer down between uses - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying You might also consider subscribing to Instant Ink then you only pay by the page and not for the cartridges themselves.
