I bought the HP 63 cartridge to replace an HP 63 XL cartridge that didn't print characters at the beginning or ends of some lines on every page. After a few months since the HP 63 XL cartridge prints correctly I haven't installed the HP 63 cartridge.

Hello,
I am sorry that your XL cartridge was not printing correctly. It is so inconvenient that happened, but I think I know why it started working..
The printer will periodically run a maintenance routine to clear the tiny inkjet nozzles on the cartridge. While a few of the nozzles were probably blocked initially, the printer was able to get them unclogged after a few times running the cleaning routine.
You could have returned it since it appears that poor performance was there at the start. In the future, you might want to consider that if you have a cartridge that isn't working well. The return and exchange process is covered, step-by-step, at: store.hp.com/us/en/cv/returnsandexchanges

It did the trick
I'm not sure why Staples is asking for a review of a printer refill cartridge. We ran out of ink. We bought a refill. We installed it. The printer has ink. Case closed! Next week's installment paper clips: Did the pages stay together?
