Black Ink Cartridge
I have trouble with refurbished cartridges. Also the black ink is supposed to make around 430 some pages. This one didn't last very long at all and already had to order a new one. This one seemed to run out of ink much faster even though I have the printer set on draft so as not to use so much ink.

It is a good idea to use the draft setting when you can and most do consider the XL cartridges to be a better value. You are doing a lot to help the cartridges last longer and I'm sorry it didn't seem to help that much with this cartridge. It might have been defective.
Perhaps a few more tips could save you more on ink:
- Check to make sure each replacement cartridge you get is properly filled
- Shut the printer down between uses
- Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
- Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page, not for the cartridges themselves

To Expensive
HP 63xl ink cartridges or for that matter HP 63 ink cartridges are too expensive. Ink quality is okay. HP has limited the options available to HP Ink Jet printer owners as to what ink cartridges that may or may not use be used in their printers.
