New unit for an existing through the wall hole

does not work
Delivered & returned the same day ! Took out of box ,set at wall but only makes noises ,start to turn compressor and stops !Would be good idea to be tested before leaving LG plant !

Buyers beware!!!
Bought this new and installed, now two years later the compressor will not shut off or cycle and freezes up due to a faulty compressor relay. The only way to shut it down is to unplug the unit. It seems to be happening to others that have bought this LG unit as well.

Five star in my book!
I was getting ready to move into a senior apartment complex which had no central air. If I wanted an air conditioner it had to have certain specifications. Great Product
I bought the unit during the peak of a heat wave as the old one (non-LG) decided to quit when it was needed the most. Long story short, the new unit stood the test of the heat wave well. No regrets.

Loud and built out of cheap materials...
Loud and built out of cheap materials... the cover for the air filter has been rattling for 2 years and now the plastic tabs that hold the cover closed broke. I have to tape it to keep it shut. I should have gone with Frigidaire instead of this garbage product.

It does as advertised, but....
This ac does what it is supposed to do but does something I find annoying. In energy saving mode the unit will shut down when the temp is reached. That's good. Less good is that the fan will turn on every 3 or so minutes to check the air. This creates unwanted noise. When cooling is again needed the compressor and fan start again and the cycle is repeated. Works fine.
I wanted more features to pull the air from the outside to cool, but considering that avoiding this keeps allergens from entering the inside space and most recently smoke from the Canadian fires, I probably made the right choice. I didn’t realize that there was even a valve to control the intake of outside air to cool. You learn something new everyday as they say.

Sturdy well designed AC thru the wall unit
After about a month of intermittent use, the unit is performing up to expectations. Of course the real test is longevity. It remains to be seen if it will still work next cooling season. I hope so.

Works great
I bought this for my elderly parents. The a/c they had was old and stopped cooling the apartment. It never really worked great. That are so happy with this one. It reaches into the kitchen and all and they love the comfort of the remote control.
