Black regular cartridge
I’ve had issues with the black link cartridge drying up too quickly before being used. I’ve had to replace the black ink cartridge in order for my HP printer to print because of the bad cartridge.

HP 65 XL Cartridge
We only had this HP 5055 printer less than 1 month and I don't think we printed more than 100 b/w pages but we are on our 3rd cartridge(2nd XL). I don't think we will ever but another HP printer again.

Problem solved
After five days trying to solve my printing issue, I came to the conclusion that the ink cartridge, even though it was over half full, needed to be replaced. I decided to order HP ink, and problem solved.
