Science for younger kids
We were given this in exchange for a review. My 5 year old son loved it. He did all the challenges in the set and has since been using the pieces in his own free play. Building little levers and pulleys for himself. He loves it.

Disappointed
My grandson was disappointed in it as nothing seemed to work as per the instructions - several people tried.
Couldn't get the wheels off the cart. The archimedes screw wouldn't lift anything at all. Bit of a letdown really.

Simple Machines
I combine this set with the force and motion kit. On its own this set works well to teach little ones about machines and get them thinking about how to improve them. When combined with the force and motion set, students have the added ability to explore what force, motion, and energy have to do with making machines work.
