False advertising
The add was for two packages. I received one package with a tricolor cartridge and a black cartridge. I believe their add was misleading.

Hello Richard The key to fixing this situation is understanding how large print jobs affect the printer. It might not seem like a lot but twenty pages at a time can cause a clog. The cartridge is not empty but the printhead cannot access the extra ink. The other potential scenario is a leak. Pushing the cartridge in too far causes leaks. Cartridges don't last
the ink is expensive & dries up if not used frequently I was away -- and even though the cartridges were new -- they didn't work -- the staples salesman said these ink jet cartridges need to be used weekly or the ink dries up -- very expensive for little use

Hi Laura The ink should last longer if you practice good printing techniques. I can show you some new methods. I am sorry the cartridge has not worked well for you. Start by doing automatic maintenance at least once a week. Afterward take a damp cloth and gently wipe. If you print in black ink only then you will save ink.
