False advertising
The add was for two packages. I received one package with a tricolor cartridge and a black cartridge. I believe their add was misleading.

I have used only HP inks in my HP printers.
While they cost a little more than other brands, HP inks have consistently provided excellent print results. I have tried a couple of other brands and found them to provide poorer print quality and one even leaked inside my printer making a mess to clean up.

great "do everything" all in one printer.
Had a Epson prior to this printer, so happy that I decided to get a HP printer when I purchased a HP laptop. this printer does it all even double sided. Great photos with this printer also. The ink last longer than it did with the Epson. Had a lil problem when I originally installed the software but was able to get it corrected thru customer service.

I am sorry that you didn't get what you expected from the order. I can understand if you're upset.
Perhaps the contacts got smudged or are damaged so that the cartridge is not recognized by your printer. You can carefully polish the copper contacts on the cartridge (and the matching ones inside the printer) with a lint-free material to get off fingerprints or dust.

Disappointed
For a brand new cartridge the color is not intense as it should be. If I try to print a bill, the it is illegible. It was three times the usual cost and I expected a better product.

It's the correct size cartridge!
It's great to have a black cartridge that lasts longer than the one that came with the new printer for the initial set-up! I almost didn't believe that the correct size cartridge could possibly hold as much ink as the information says it will. We'll see if it lasts for as long as expected.
