False advertising
The add was for two packages. I received one package with a tricolor cartridge and a black cartridge. I believe their add was misleading.

I was sorry to hear that you aren't having your cartridge last long. You might like the XL version better. Most think it is a better value.
Ink usage generally determines how long it lasts. High-density prints (like images and graphs) use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry. Making use of the draft mode whenever possible can help too.

Priner ink
The ink cartridge never printed right from the get go. 2/3 of a photo printed correctly then would fade out. Lost certain colors completely. Didn't get 3 good photos out of the whole cartridge.
