Didn't work
Inserted the ink cartridges but the machine said they were bad. I was sent a new set of cartridges and they also did not work with the printer. I'm thinking I was unlucky and received a lemon. I'm sure they have an acceptable failure rate. I was just unlucky to get a bad one.

Predatory!!!
What is think is that it is PREDATORY to make people buy complete replacements if they only use B&W. Used to be each cartridge could be replaced separately when depleted. I had to buy the WHOLE replacement for my printer but this practice is PREDATORY. Shame on you!!!

This incident is the first I hear of issues installing a different cartridge than the one from instant ink. It is probably from the cartridge code the printer scans, not recognizing the cartridge. You could try restarting the printer and then give it another shot. If not, a return is the next best choice. Go to www.hp.com/us-en/shop/cv/ReturnsandExchanges?id=page-return-exchange-policy/. Another cartridge is on its way through the instant ink program.
