Don't Make Me Buy Only HP Ink
My printer gives me an error message when I use any different type of ink other than HP ink. This is corporate greed at its worst, and completely anti-consumer. Ink is ink, I shouldn't have to care who's logo is on the box. And I definitely should be warned before I buy the printer that it will only work with HP branded ink.

Other brands or generic brands of ink will provide an error message. These brands simply don't work well in our printers. I apologize for the inconvenience. If your concern is cost, I suggest you maximize each cartridge.
An easy way to save money is to replace the color cartridges less by printing in black ink. Avoiding dry cartridges is another solution. Clean the printhead after each print with a damp cloth. If you infrequently print, clean the printhead at least once a week. I wish you luck in extending out each cartridge.

Hi Janice What happened with this cartridge is a fluke. HP maintains very high-quality standards. On rare occasions a damaged or defective cartridge will reach our customers. I always recommend trying new cartridges immediately to see if they work. Also check the ink levels in the printer as soon as the cartridge is installed. They're ink cartridges. They do what they're supposed to do. My beef is with your delivery service. The original shipment was "missed by the driver" at the warehouse. Finally got it 4 days later AFTER a replacement had been ordered.
