Hi Elizabeth Your story is not the customer outcome we strive for. Twenty pages is not a lot. It is unusual that the printer would stop working at random. Did you try another cartridge? There are a few causes of this situation. First it is possible you ran out of ink. Leaks or dried ink on the printhead could stop printing.
