Your feelings about the product are important to us. We understand fifty pages fell short of your expectations. There are many factors involved with ink retention.
If you printed more words or designs per page, your cartridge would last fewer pages. If you printed fifty photos, you likely got full use of the cartridge. Images consume lots of ink.
Other causes are leaks, clogs, and dry cartridges. Printing fifty pages at once could cause a clog. Leaks are rare, but you should check just in case. Apply a damp towel to the printhead to resolve a dry cartridge. If you want to troubleshoot this issue further, go to www.support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/.

Too little ink capacity; yet good quality
When the print indicator shows low ink the print is very poor. It should say replace new ink. Also the cartridges do not hold much ink. It prints less than 200 sheets of paper.
