Summary of reviews

The ink cartridges are generally easy to install and offer good print quality, but some users find them expensive and not long-lasting. While the price is reasonable for some, others feel it could be better. The product is user-friendly but could improve in durability.

Conundrum
Since I can’t get the printer connected to use it is unfair to rate the ink!

Staples service
Thank you for your prompt and accurate handling of my order. The ink cartridges arrived in great condition. Also the HP Envy Pro which I purchased from Staples is one with surprising quality. I am extremely happy with it.

In Stock-more expensive
Other places are always out of stock for this ink. Staples had it. Unfortunately it cost $6.00 more than other places and $6.00 more than staples is offering me on line right now. Customer service was great.

Response from Staples :
Hi, I regret that you were disappointed in how long the cartridge lasted. How each individual cartridge will perform for you is determined by your own usage and environmental factors. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is very absorbent and the air is dry. Here are some things that might help lower your ink costs: - Black is used a lot in almost every printout. Use the printer's draft mode whenever possible, to help stretch out black and colored ink - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying. - Shutting the printer down between uses will save electricity and a few drops of ink here and there that are used to keep the inkjets cleared and ready for your next print job. - Instant Ink lets you pay by the page. Check out the details at the HP Instant Ink site. Marco HP Care hp.com/support

skimpy ink cartridges
Not very pleased with how quickly these cartridges run out. I can see now why HP wanted me to sign up for auto-refile. Not doing it. I don't like the ENVY printer either.

Hi Ed I'm sorry to hear that the cartridges did not work well for you. That must have been frustrating. Ink usage generally determines how long a cartridge lasts. High-density prints (like images and graphs) use more ink especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry. Things that might help you to save money on ink: - Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible - Shut the printer down between uses. That can save ink and electricity - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. Ink for HP printer
The ink is great. However, the cartridges don't seem to last as long as the ones for my previous printer.

Response from Staples :
Hi Mike I'm sorry to hear that the cartridge did not work for you. That must have been frustrating. Perhaps the contacts on the cartridge got smudged or are damaged so that it was not recognized by your printer. You can carefully polish the copper contacts on the cartridge (and the matching ones inside the printer perhaps) with some kind of lint-free material to get off fingerprints or dust and it should work. If that does not work it is probably defective and you'll need to return it to the seller for a replacement. Sorry! Marco HP Care hp.com/support
