I only needed one cartridge! Will not live long enough to use two!
Already responded that it is unfair to make a customer buy two in a pack when self life and use are considered. $215 for two cartridges is really unconscionable and unfair. Address the issue…..

Quality Great...But goes fast
The product is a little pricy for the amount of toner. We have to change the toner frequently. It would be excellent for personal home use when you don't do very much printing. Little to expensive for office use if you are a heavy user.

gives excellent results
I had tried a generic substitute and got poor results. Then I ordered the dual-pack 78-A toner cartridge and it was like night and day. I get excellent output from my printer.

Expensive but great results!
We are a church that upgraded from an old HP laserjet to a new one to get double sided printing. It works fine but the cartridge lasts about 6 weeks on the new setup compared to the old one that lasted about a year. (The old replacement cartridge was also less expensive.) Works great but does cost some $$
If you want to make sure you are getting a quality replacement this is the one to get but it's going to cost you a bit more to buy than a refill that may or may not work.

If you want to make sure you are getting a quality replacement, this is the one to get but it's going to cost you a bit more to buy than a refill that may or may not work.

It used to last almost 3 months and it was less than double the price. The HP78A Black Toner cartridge last about 4 weeks and when the print starts to get light at the end of the toner its done...

Extend life of toner
Buyers should be able to extend the life of their toner cartridges by clicking on the Lighter/ Darker button, then moving the black rectangle from the middle to the far left. Then clock "OK." This reduces the amount of toner put on the page, thereby extending the life of the cartridge.

This is a great product.
As I said above it's a great product but there is no warning as to when the toner will go out and I print lengthy documents. Sometime I'll get close to the end of the document and the toner just goes out.

Cartridge life too skimpy.
In my opinion HP gyps you with the amount of toner actually in this cartridge. I have weighed the "full" cartridge against the "empty" cartridge and the only difference was about 100g of toner. It doesn't last for me anywhere near as long as projected. I had a workhorse HP LaserJet 1200 and its cartridges lasted twice to 2.5 times as long as my p1606dn for which these ...
