Use this to connect your old monitor to a new device with a HDMI port
I needed this cable to connect my older monitor to a new dell Tower with a HDMI port for connecting a monitor instead of the port with the pins. It worked perfectly.

Replacement cable solved problem with 2nd monitor stability.
When I purchased my current laptop the Video output connection for a 2nd monitor was HDMI. I bought an HDMI to VGA adapter from HP to connect the exist Dell 2nd monitor. It was not reliable. The VGA end did not provide hole for the VGA cable tightening screws. Any bump or touch disturbed the connection, and I would have fiddle with it to stabilize the monitor display. ...

perfect solution
This was the perfect solution for my very old, but still good monitor. I have 2 old, but still good monitors and just recently purchased a new desktop. Problem is that the desktop came with one HDMI and one VGA port. Cable's fine, Reason For Needing It Is Not
The cable is fine. Its the fact that I needed this cable to set up dual monitors on my new computer is what irks me. The cables provided with the monitors are too short and one of them needed an extension so this cable filled that purpose. The Radeon video card should have provided more ports as did the Radeon card on my old XPS410.

Video Cable Saved Me Money
Monitor went out on my HP desktop. I have an Insignia TV, about 32" that I don't use much, so I looked at the connections (I know nothing about tech) and this is the video cable that fits from desktop to TV. Cheap and easy solution, and lo and behold, it works! Good price, shipping, etc, works and I'm happy.
