Great Hub
The Startech Hub has worked solid for me. I have been using for several months using multiple devices ie: sdr radio, ham radio stuff and I have been very impressed with its performance and ease of use. Highly recommend Startechs products, ROCK Solid!! -Ken

Thought this would be great, but...
My company included this with all my other devices, laptop, monitor, wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, wireless headset. Fantastic idea since only 2 USB ports on my laptop and 3 wireless devices provided, worked fine at first but, after 2 months, kept getting the chime that something was not working, moved it to the second USB port, fine then one month later, today, sa...

Good for a laptop/notebook, not for a desktop.
I purchased it with the intention of plugging it into my desktop computer's front panel port and mounting it on the top of my case, but the cable is too short for this purpose... I'm sure it's great for a laptop or notebook!!

Fails constantly
This technology has been used in my place of work where there are daily cases of it failing to connect my computer to devices and the network. The device will be plugged in and operating perfectly fine - then suddenly disconnect from all devices.

If you've got all of the ports on this hub full and there are high-power devices such as a portable external hard drive connected, you may see some issues due to power constraints as this hub does not have a separate power adapter and draws power directly from the USB port on your computer. However, if you're not using any high-power USB devices or do not have all of the USB ports in use, then there may be an issue with the USB cable.
