Works well.
I have a dead spot in my house where the thermostat is installed, so the HVAC was on for way more than it needed to be. I installed the Ecobee with one remote sensor that I placed in a bedroom. Then I set up my comfort settings so that the main thermostat wasn't considered. This allowed the remote sensor to control the HVAC, and it worked like a charm to keep the hou...

Sensor gone crazy at three years….
The thermostat went heywire it reads the house temp 5 degrees higher than what it actually is, causing the AC to run non stop, until we manually turn it off!!!
Smart? It is NOT !!!
Do not buy Ecobee, I tried to call customer service and all I got is a forever music and recording telling me how “great” their product is…LOL.

Simple and works like a cham
Great thermostat. I chose this one as I think some of the advance features are overkilling it. I am still trying to understand some of the menu items - it's not as user friendly as the Nest. Also I haven't been able to figure out how to change the language of the interface - it only displays in English,

Temp reading off??
The ecobee essential, i have 2, seem to show the room temp incorrectly?!? Always off by 1-2 degrees? Why is that?

Right Mix of Features and Settings

Easy to use
I’ve had this product for a couple of weeks. Easy to use is basic mode. Although it allows you to program daily changes I prefer to change the temperature in real time. I prefer to do it using the iPhone app which works fine.

Ecobee does all I need it to do.
It was installed by an HVAC contractor. It works great and allows me to easily adjust the temperature. I like the automatic "setting at x degrees until 6:30 am or 11:30 pm". Great feature.

Ecobee Time Zone issue be very aware
The Ecobee works amazingly well. We love it very much except for one thing it does not do well. We live on the edge of the time zone of Central and Eastern. I keep the set the ecobee to Eastern Time Zone as that is the zone we are wanting to follow. Smart Thermostat That’s Actually Easy to Use.
I’ve used the Sensi and Nest Learning (3rd Gen) thermostats before, but the Ecobee Smart Thermostat Essential is by far the easiest to operate—both through the app and the on-screen touch controls. It was also super easy to integrate with HomeKit. Simple, reliable, and user-friendly!

Simple but effective

Software Not Great
It took several days of playing around with the software to get the thermostat to perform the way I wanted it to. The website is not that helpful, but it will get you through the basics. If you're not inclined to dealing with many software menus, nor fully understand your HVAC system, you may want to avoid this thermostat.

best thermostat ever
I was 10 minutes away, the a/c was off, I had just finished a bunch of shopping, and it was hot and humid. I got on my smartphone, used the Ecobee app, turned on the a/c to 70 degrees, and when I arrived home, it was LUSH indoors—I love the thermostat!
