Just what I needed when I wanted to use eReader while sitting at our table. It's well made and sturdy

Tried using this with an iPad 4.
As long as you are not planning to touch the screen near the outside edges, you are fine.
Since it is a tripod design, if you have your tablet in portrait mode and want to touch something on upper left or right of the screen, it will flip over unless you hold the tablet on the opposite side as well - kind of defeats the hands-free intent...

solid and strong
Stand is super well built, solid, and strong. Plenty of soft pads in all the right places too to prevent scratching the table or device.

Average, and a bit heavy
I got this for my son to use with his iPad mini. It's ok. It's a bit heavy. I wouldn't use it for anything larger than an iPad mini. It is too small for a full sized iPad in my opinion. It's well made and super durable, but there are better ones out there.

Works fine, a bit heavier than expected.
I purchased the Aluratek Universal Stand because it's folding design seemed ideal for packing along with my tablet (in this case a Kindle Fire HD 8.9). The stand holds the tablet horizontally or vertically in two positions - more or less upright and the other more or less lying down. I haven't tried the lying down or "typing" position. It does a good job of propping up ...
