Checklist: Business Services that Work Well Within the Cloud

Which cloud services are ideal for small businesses? It’s hard to say, but certain traits do lend themselves well to the cloud. What are they?

Cloud services work particularly well for small shops in certain situations.

Here are a few:

  • You’re a small shop facing increased demand for your products or services, but you’re not equipped to expand your IT setup.
  • You have consistent access to secure Wi-Fi, minimizing the risks of cloud computing on the road.
  • The data you’d keep in the cloud is proprietary only to your company — you don’t have the added risk of liability for customers’ private or financial data in the event of a security breach.
  • Your business could continue operating during “downtime” if you lost access to the cloud for an hour — or even a day.
  • You’d benefit from the cloud’s scalability as your business fluctuates.
  • You’re already in the market for new software or IT services.
