This thing is 8' long and there are only drill holes at either end. I had our shop guy drill one in the center and now that they're hanging (without having hung anything on them yet), I can see they're going to need two more. Already bowing out from the wall. Just plain dumb to only provide two end supports.

Comments about Advantus 96" Map Rail:

1. We ordered four of the 96-in strips. NONE had the pushpins or magnetic strips.
2. Three of the strips looked good. One has too little cork, so it almost doesn't stay in the frame. There is an obvious gap between the frame and the cork.
3. Mounting hardware is inadequate. For such a long strip, there needs to be something in the middle, not just on the ends.
4. The screws were way too long for the anchors and the heads were way too small to hold the strip, especially the one that was too small.

We're using these strips in a classroom, to mount large sheetss of paper. Right now, we're using tape -- and removing the paint with the tape.

I was using this in my classroom. It comes with only two screws for mounting. We had to add another four screws to allow it to hang papers. We only hang one paper per student. The cork is not deep for the push pins.

It does look nice now that we have it up.

We put this up in my teenage grand daughter's room. Wonderful for displaying all her art work and "souviners" she collects along the way.
