I have used these for years to keep client files together when they are out of the file drawers. They last for years and can be used over and over. I don't know what I'd do without them.

My first (and last) package of Big Bands suffered from the same problem as the previous reviewer. The bands are good for one or two expansion & compression cycles before cracks appear in the rubber. Upon further stretching, the cracks grow deeper and eventually, the strain rips the bands apart. I honestly expected a better quality product from Alliance.

By contrast- the company's premium-priced "Sterling" bands of the same size (#117B, 7" x 1/8") are fantastic (not one has broken during regular duty), so if you're looking for rubber bands to go around file folders, opt for a box of Sterling #117Bs instead. You won't regret it.

Have had once before but thought it was my imagination...but same thing is happening...once expanded, it seems that the rubber starts to pull apart... Staples: pls. discuss w/manufacturer, if you would.
