this laser pointer is soldily made and well suited for auditorium presentations. it can be used to point out the latest trends in corporate earnings, or titration rates of some chemical, or clickthrough advertising success with gen-Y-ers who drink chablis and make between $35 and $50k, or whatever it is that you do to justify going to all those conferences. more imprtantly, you can make all sorts of squiggle patterns on the walls, which may help to keep your fellow meeting attendees awake and amused. it is not bright enough to seriously risk blinding pilots and causing aircraft to fall out of the night sky, which is a good thing, imho. on the other hand, it is a complete hoot as a gizmo to play with your cat. for which i heartily endorse it. fluffy the cat kinda likes it, too.

We and several of our friends use a laser pointer as a kitty toy. Our cats adore it and it even gets our 15 year old Cody up and playing. You just have to use caution and be very sure not to point a laser at their or anyone elses eyes for that matter. A laser pointer can cause temporary blindness or worse if pointed towards someones eyes. Yet, if used wisely our cats love chasing it and we let them "catch" it on occasion. It's funny to watch them slowly and carely lift and peep under a paw. When they do this we'll turn it back on and it "escapes". We haven't seen our old boy Cody so active in years. Our cats are also sweet and will let each other take turns. Just be careful and you'll be o.k. using this as a toy.kv

I do slide shows on a large flat panel LCD monitor and wanted to use it to point out things on the screen. The laser pointer is not visible on anything but the darkest areas of the screen. I even tried the more expensive and more powerful model with no luck. Thankfully, I was able to return both to Staples with no problems

I teach taxes with projector and charts and white board. This product lets me sit or stand or move about while I point out the various parts of my presentation. I don't get in my own way or in front of anything that needs to be viewed by the students. Perfect.
