This adapter helped continue a vital project and provided a short-cut to connecting to the Internet when our tech infrastructure was being updated. The Mac Powerbook Pro does not have direct Ethernet connection, and we could not hardwire into the cable-provider's modem. When we replaced our Time-Warner modem, our wi-fi did not work as well as before, and we began the gradual replacement of components. The new wi-fi software was "cranky" at first. In the middle of a crucial project, we learned about the Thunderbolt adapter. It was a plug-and-play fix that let the project move along while we fixed the internal networking.
