I needed them for some cookbooks I was making as Christmas gifts. Since I was also using 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 sheet protectors to protect the recipes I thought these would be perfect to divide the cookbook into categories, ie. Main Dishes, Side Dishes, etc. Since they did not protrude past the sheet protectors I was unable to use them. They needed to be an additional 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch wider. Needless to say I was somewhat disappointed that I had to give the books without dividers. I believe they would, however, work well as dividers for paper not in sheet protectors. It would do well for you to look more closesly at what your exact needs are for dividers before ordering these.

I bought these to use in my planner; the paper-ish dividers the planner came with weren't very sturdy, and I had to keep layering on hole protectors to get them to stay in. Since I bought these dividers, I've never had a problem again.

I use these at work to separate daily items that need to be done. I like the soft pastel colors too. I also bought some for my daughter to use in her notebook at school to separate her different subjects. She loves them.
