I have run hundreds of these labels when completing last minute projects and have been very pleased with the results. The labels run through my laser printer without jamming or peeling off in the fuser. The toner adheres well to the surface with no flaking or rubbing off. The end-product looks very close to the quality you would expect from direct printing on the disks.
A phone call to Avery confirmed that these are paper labels and Avery recommends them only for use in CD players and 1st generation DVD players. Staples web site incorrectly stated that it is a film label made for use on DVDs. It is not.
I've used Avery products for years - always with consistent results. Since these labels are round with complex cuts, the concern would be premature pealing while printing gumming up the internal printer mechanism. I’ve never had a problem with an Avery label â€" you might pay a few pennies more, but the quality is worth it.
