Q: The Brother® DR-420 Drum Cartridge states: "Toner NOT included with drum cartridge" That would leave me to believe that the drum does not arrive filled and ready to go, please clarify. The TN-420 cartridge that I received with the new printer is now saying that it is low on toner after <250 printed pages. Asked on 3/21/2011 by b4lines from Charlotte NC Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The toner are the drum are two separate items. The drum is used to create an image on paper. This image is then covered with toner and fused to the page to create the document. If your machine states low toner, you will need to replace the toner cartridge and not the drum cartridge.
