Pricey but long life

I purchased this printer (Brother 4040CDN) when my daughter was getting married. We printed all the Wedding and pre-wedding party stationary with outstanding results. The original cartridges lasted well past the party planning. Nearly 18 months... The only disappointment was when I went to replace the cartridges... Had to replace 3 of the 4 at the same time... [$] EACH. I only paid [$] for the printer. The Black cartridge lasted a bit longer than the colored cartridges. I guess when you do the math even though it is costly to replace the cartridges... The printing quality and the life of the cartridges it is a good value.

Too expensive for the amount of pages printed! I will never buy another BROTHER ALL-IN-ONE AGAIN, especially a LASER PRINTER! It costs over $400.00 a month to print what I need!

As long as I have the printer set to "Econo" print (which uses less ink per page printed) I can usually get appx 2,500 pages out of 1 cartridge. If it is set to the regular setting, I'll get quite a bit less.
