I use this to make projects for my students and love how easy it is to replace cartridges, how clear the pictures are, how the colors come out, etc. I find the price of replacement without an option for refill when I KNOW there is still ink inside very disappointing. I do things for my students with my own money and this price is very discouraging.

If you want to get the full life of this cartridge and all Brother cartridges, you need to use opaque tape to cover the toner windows on both sides of each cartridge. Brother has the cartridge leave a fair amount of toner inside because the sensor reads empty when light is sensed through the cartridge. The cartridge life is already very short. Very expensive printing and a very poor representation for Brother.

the same credit of $2 is received for a small cartridge at 1/8 of the price as the Brother Cartridges which are much more expensive to produce. It does not make sense.

The brother cartridges are not inexpensive and yet when I recently replaced one I had yellow spots running down one side at about every inch. I had to run twenty blank sheets of paper through before the yellow spots diminished.

It's almost irresistable to pass up the cheap prices of 'compatible' toner cartridges. BUT BE WARNED: Nothing can replace the reliability of genuine OEM toner cartridges in your Brother laser printer. I tried the 'compatibles' once; but never again! I'm willing to pay two or three times the price for OEM toner in order to get what I'm paying for: perfect color & reliable performance.
