The Brother is fast, and easy to use. Just wish it didn't cost so much money for all the cartridges needed. I run a small real estate office and we do use alot of the black cartridge, but yet for brochures/photos of homes, we need to use the color just as frequently.

It is great in scanning and faxing. Copies are clear. I can also use legal size paper for professinal documents. It is equipped for wireless service which helps in Model Homes so the customer can quickly obtain a copy of their purchase agreement.

As it seems with all the major printer manufacturers these days, the cost of their toner is designed as a perpetual revenue stream, one with increasing prices, and there doesn't seem to be enough...Read complete review

As it seems with all the major printer manufacturers these days, the cost of their toner is designed as a perpetual revenue stream, one with increasing prices, and there doesn't seem to be enough competitive spirit anymore to drive price competition to drive toner costs down. And, the cartridges don't last long, typically not as many pages (even using economy modes) as we're told to expect. So, among a crop of such choices, the Brother toner is better than, say, HP, with a printer that has been reasonably reliable. But, even with coupons, sale prices, and gift cards, it's not exactly a bargain, especially when you need several toner colors to print at one time in color. A set of toner costs more than the printer. And, to print in color, aside from maintenance fees and the like, it's over $0.25 per page when I own the machine. That's really too much. So, it's nice to find this priced in the same ballpark as others, and not more, but pricing isn't much of a value, and my local Staples store just tried to add $10 to store price per toner in the last few weeks to add insult to injury. This is an increase not seen at other stores, so had to travel to get a better deal at another Staples. And, sadly, that didn't help me press my "Easy" button. I may need the product, but am just not favorably impressed here....
