Canon ink cartridges

Canon printers and cartridges provide excellent performance and top quality results. However, Canon printers require you to use Canon inks, and my printer takes seven cartridges. There are no substitutes that will not jam the printer. Thus, as prices for Canon cartridges go up I am held hostage by Canon. I think it is within the realm of possibility for Canon to be more sensitive to users' needs and income. With the frequency of cartridge replacements required for these printers Canon can't be hurting.
