This was purchased as a first time buyer. I use a large stamp. For my purposes, business use, I need a pad with a raised ink bed, not a well. This stamp pad has a deep well. The deep well keeps things neater than the raised bed does. It is personal preference. The pad is not heavily inked. It does not hold ink refill neatly, it is not designed to. I would not try to refill mine again. The original product did produce very clear and detailed lines and shadows. My logo has crosshatching and that appeared on even the most difficult surfaces, with a bit of work and a lot of pressure. This product is in line with what I would expect for what I paid, however, my next purchase was of two or three levels higher quality. This is a good product for one time or seldom use, small stamps, for messy adults, teens and kids smart enough to handle real ink without consuming it. Not a good product for large stamps, vivid color, or difficult surfaces.
