My two main uses are (1) for attaching paper to other surfaces -- especially as a dry-mount -- to give a clean professional look, and (2) for attaching a business card to letters and such -- using a couple of small "dabs" (put some glue in a small "squirt-tip" bottle to make it really easy!). The card will not get lost and not noticed (because it fell somewhere in the envelope), and it can easily be removed by the customer. The little bit of glue on the back of it can easily be rubbed off by the customer. There are very few things that this rubber cement will hold up on. I found that if I need to attach small items like beads, then this glue will work, but if I have to bond things like poster board or foam, this just does not work all that well. It can also start to make a mess, especially if begins to build up on the brush. I would use hot glue and put up with the extra mess if it means that my projects can get finished. Comments about Borden Elmer's Rubber Cement: This stuff is timeless. When you need a pretty tight flexible bond, where else will you go for short money? Spread the leftovers on a hard surface, let dry, and roll up with your fingertips into a bouncy ball... two products in one!

Comments about Borden Elmer's Rubber Cement: I use this rubber cement for making posters. After you paste the picture to the poster you can remove the excess rubber cement. It leaves the poster very clean looking.

Comments about Borden Elmer's Rubber Cement: The longevity of the adhesion depends on whether you apply it on BOTH surfaces to be glued together or only one. If you apply it to both surfaces and let it dry a few minutes and THEN stick them together you will get the best results ( a little trick I learned in an applied arts class).
