I do personal book binding and use the comb binding for much of what I do. Being able to do it at home without the cost of taking it to a shop is very helpful.

Most of the book I bind have a limited shelf life and therefore don't need to be perfect bound.

None of your local stores carries the 5/16" Binder so I must always order from catelog. That's a pain.
