    the reason why your auto does not shut off is due to exessive use of the oil which builds up gunk i had the same issue whith my old shredder but it exploded and caught on fire so beware try doing this now if you have a new shredder. When you get junk mail use the envelope provided pour oil across the envelope and run it through the feeder its just like the oil sheet they sell just cheaper.

    Fellowes oil for shredder works very well with machine when applied as instructed by manufacturer immediately after emptying bin contents and then pressing blue icon for 1 minute to allow Fellowes shredder to be adequately lubricated. So far, I am very pleased with shredder's performance because of the consistent application of the Fellowes' shredder oil lubricant.
