Shape works as intended, but the adhesive does not stick well to our phones. The back curve on the item that sticks to the phone doesn't match the phone, but since the item is made of foam, it bends to the shape of the phone. Unfortunately, after a few days, the sides of the foam comes unstuck from the phone, and if you have long hair, the adhesive will catch and stick to your hair... ouch! I tried two, thinking the first had defective adhesive, but both did the same thing. If you have short hair, it's ok because the item does stay on the phone, just the adhesive on the sides peel off.
The device does not work. I have used several other shoulder rests before that look very similar to this unit, but the geometry of the shoulder side pad is incorrect. There is a ridge in the center of the pad that causes the handset to to turn and slide off your shoulder. Also, the material that this device is made of is very slick, also causing the unit to slide off your shoulder. You cannot put enough pressure on the pad to prevent sliding. The strain caused on your neck is very uncomfortable.
This product was purchased for use with an office phone but after installing it and using it we've noticed that it's best for short calls when you need both hands free for a minute while you write down a phone number or brief information. Long phone conversations do not lend themselves well to this product as you will find your head cocked to the side uncomfortably and eventually may find yourself having a kink in your neck. So once again, shorter conversations are great for this product. It's comfortable for short periods of time, and it's very easy to install.
I bought a new corded phone so I had to have this in order to talk comfortably without using my hands. It is perfect to use while on the computer and doing any tasks while talking on the phone. It does not come off if you make a mistake in placing it right so be careful and make sure that you position it correctly. I tried to get the one off of my old phone and NO LUcK. I could not be comfortable without one of these! You will be glad that you got it too.
The newer phones are smaller and the shoulder rest should be made to accommodate the smaller phones. Since the phones are smaller, it is really uncomfortable to try to hold them between your shoulder and ear.

Q:
It would be very helpful if you included the specs for this product under product details. I want, in particular, to know the width of this product, at it's widest point. Thank you!
This measures 6" long, 1-3/4" wide at widest point, 2" thick at thickest point and tapers down to 3/4".

Q:
There WAS an item that clamped onto the phone hand piece and had a cradle type rest for the shoulder. Where do I find one of these??? I have the common soft type that sticks to the phone, which I do not like. Thanks
