After spending [$] for the nonXL ink replacements I found the XL and I consistently get 1,000+ pages from each. I always choose fast draft when printing and get the same quality as a regular print at a 1/3 of the ink. When it gets towards the bottom of the cartridge I go to regular print. Please ignore the printer warning to change the ink, I get at least one more week of printing after it says to change the ink. ALWAYS have a replacement on hand for when it does run out. I have a bunch of tips to de-cluttering your home office at [@].

I have tried other papers and the paper does not seem to be the issue for the smudging. I am very disappointed in the ink, and it seems to be the black ink that will not work well on the glossy photo paper.

  Page yields are configured based on a standard sheet of paper with a 5% coverage. The HP 60XL will print up to 600 pages with a 5% coverage, whereas the HP 60 will yield up to 200 pages with a 5% coverage. Unfortunately, information regarding 4 x 6 prints are not available.   Yes it will also fit. I didn't notice any difference in the size of the cartridge when I installed the 60 XL cartridge in my printer. I did, however, notice a huge difference in the number of pages I am able to print with the HP 60XL cartridge.

  Yes, although you might be skeptical at first, the HP 60 XL cartridge fits in your printer just as easily and well as the regular HP 60 ink cartridge does, and the amount of pages that you can print is MUCH, MUCH more! Some kind of HP magic, I think! LOL Honestly, I only buy the XL sizes of cartridges anymore(the XL is available in both black and tri-color!). Try them! I think you will be pleased! :)
