Thermo-sensitive ink formula disapears with erasing friction
Highlight and erase repeatedly without damaging books or documents
Erasable highlighters are not recommended for use on legal or official documents. Do not expose to extreme temperatures less than 14 degree or greater than 140 degrees fahrenheit
If highlighter is exposed to temperature that reaches 140 degrees the ink will be colorless when writing. To restore color, cool to at least 14 degrees in freezer and the ink will again write in color greater than 140 degrees fahrenheit

I bought this last week while I was studying for finals. I would recommend this product to any one that needs to highlight anything. Student, Editors, publishers, teachers, musicians, EVERYONE. Been waiting for an erasable highlighter for years and finally someone got it. They erase easy and completely not sure what the others were doing wrong but it worked fine on all my books, Even the cheap paper one. Maybe might not work on really light/thin or newspaper type paper, but for school books they work great. The trick is speed/heat not pressure. light but quick, back and forth and it's gone. The only 2 issues I have which aren't really big is that 1-they will dry out quick if left open (nothing a drop of water won't fix)and 2-the eraser/rubber needs to be on the cap too. oh and I wish there was a green one. other than that I LOVE THEM. Not just the highlighters but the frixion gel pens are awesome too. I will never use anything else to write or highlight with.

I bought the product so that I could highlight a script that I have to return unmarked. 10 years ago I bought a tape-type erasable highlighter that was truly erasable...I couldn't find such a product now, and I'm a bit worried that if the script gets shipped back in cold weather the marks will reappear and I will get charged. I started with the yellow highlighter, and it worked alright until for a while. After about 20 pages of light highlighting though, the tip got damaged and the ink started to dry up. I've been very careful the tip on orange one and so far it is holding up alright. The only problem is that the color is not nearly as vibrant as other, regular highlighters. The pink one worked poorly out of the box. Also, when I tried to erase the marks with the attached erasers, the ink smeared.

I can use these in my gradebook w/o the ink showing through to the next grading period when I turn the page. The ink is durable, yet easy to erase when necessary.
Comments about Pilot® FriXion® Light Eraseable Highlighters, Assorted, 3/Pack:
Very dry for a highlighter, requiring more pressure which can result in smearing of print. The friction erasing feature does not work well at all and leaves black smudges even on plain white paper. I had to use a blow drier to get the thermally activated ink to "erase" cleanly and completely. :-( Take the time to locate some highlighters that use the liquid chemical erasers.
