We purchased half a dozen of these. Within weeks, at least one leg on every single one of them would no longer lock into the extended position, apparently due to a manufacturing defect. Our expensive floor easels abruptly became tabletop easels. You would think that "heavy-duty" means "high quality" -- especially when it comes at twice the price! -- but that is not the case here.

On the plus side, for the first few weeks while they still work, they provide a more stable tripod than the flimsy ordinary kind.

I am interested in using this easel to display the Quartet 3'x2' combination cork and melamine board (Item: 518878/Model: 5553), which I also plan to order. Will the easel hold the cork board or is it only made for the typical paper notepad? Thanks
