A wider magic tape at 1 inch, and hard to find in stores. Same good qualities. The extra width helps for certain purposes. I use it in the garden for sealing flat plastic plant markers to prevent the text from fading or washing off in weather outdoors. The tape is weatherproof, wide enough, and lasts a year outdoors. I also use it for reinforcing the back edges of artwork (watercolors and drawings) in my studio. This width tape costs a dollar more per roll, but is well worth it for some special uses.

This purchase (these purchases?) especially annoying! Procured from Staples both a 3M (Scotch) tape dispenser, AND tape refills. The refills did NOT fit into the dispenser (of same manufacturer) nor was there any indication given at purchase that these were not "compatible" items!

Use as I would any time I need to light duty tape something. Unfortunately it is too wide for my dispenser & I cannot find one that it would fit.

Q:
In the previous question I asked which tape dispenser will fit this tape and the answer was item #567884. That tape dispenser does NOT fit this tape. While the 567884 tape dispenser has the correct 1" core size, it does NOT accommodate the 1" WIDTH of the tape. Does Staples sell any tape dispensers that fit this 1" WIDTH tape?

  Yes, the Staples item #504936 dispenses tape up to 2" wide. It can be used with 2 rolls of 1" wide tape, or one roll of 2" wide tape. Most tape dispensers on the Staples site only dispense up to 3/4" width tape, but there are a few that are compatible with wider tapes.
