This is the second Sharp calculator I have had, and I use it continually. My old one gave way after cleaning and 15 years of service. Like the new features on this model. Instructions could be more lucid and how to use all the features.

I bought this calculator to use at my office for bookkeeping purposes. It has a bright display and is an adequate speed to keep up with me! The only negative I can see is that the numbers print so low on the tape that you have to lean over to see what just printed. Other than that, I am very pleased with this calculator and, when my others die, I will probably buy this same model. In years past, Sharp has been the brand that has performed the best and lasted the longest so I see no reason not to stick with them. And Staples has the best price on them that I can find!

This is an excellent calculator. I primarily use to assist in balancing my check books. My last Sharp calculator was purchased in 1990. I finally had to retire it and purchase this model, the EL-1197III. I tried several models but decided on this one. I have no regrets.
