I use the leger for my automobile expenses. I keep it in the car and it is just a bit to big for the glove compartment. I had been using an 7 15/16 X 5 1/8 in. Cash Book from the Mead Corporation. I purchased it in 1993 and it served me well. That size is no longer availabe and it is a shame as it was so convient and fit the glove compartment. I have almost twenty years of automobile expenses in the old book.

Binding could be a little more flexible to facilitate writing near center of book.

The quality seems slightly better than ones I bought at Staples in previous years. In two of the three cases, those bindings started to fall apart and this one looks stronger.
An old mentor of mine once told me that nothing beats hard copy. I use quicken, I use a online financial programs, but a good old fashioned ledger never does you wrong, it is on hand, hard copy for tax needs, and wont crash or get lost in the clouds of electronic confusion, not to mention I get to use a visor once in a while, while ticking away on my calculator. My lawyer, my accountant, my tax man all appreciate the fact that as a sole proprietor/artist I keep a financial log, and more than often my butt has been saved by that good old fashioned hard copy financial log. Thanks Staples.
