What can you say about a map pin that is used to mark a place on the map? It does it's job.

We tried to use them in a shadow box for a charity auction. The older type of map pins were much shorter, but apparently are no longer available. They worked though. These newer and longer ones bent, were unusable for our purpose, and were returned.

The pin length is too long for a wall mounted map

I used these to make a small Christmas tree out of a styrofoam cone. I wrapped the cone in luscious green satin folded ribbon and adhered that using the colored pins which looked like Christmas balls. I also used the pins to attach some small ornaments. I also attached the ribbon to the top to make a hangable loop using the pins. Very nice and great colors for the holidays.

The nice long pin enables the use of many more business-cards to be posted on a bulletin-board/cork board. Regular push-pins are fine for other applications, but there is not enough pin for both posting a lot of cards, and still having enough pin left to pierce and remain attached to the bulletin board.
