Okay, my back LOVES this chair… and so do I… to a point.

I love that I can choose to let my abdominal muscles support my back, reducing back pain, or choose to lean back and rely more on the back of the chair, resulting in a more comfortable short term sitting position.

I love how well it adjusts to what I want, except for the back height (see below). The seat cushion is second-to-none. I've sat in every office chair in several different stores, and for my body, none came close to this. I can sit for much longer than any other chair, with much less pain.

I use the chair for composing music at the computer, as a piano chair (yes!) as well as for editing photos (business). I'd estimate I use it for either 3 hours, or 7-9 hours a day, depending on what else I have scheduled. It's comfortable for every length of time, and supremely so.

Now, the negative. The back has a height adjustment, but it's nearly useless. In fact, it's worse than useless, because it automatically becomes loose and falls to the lowest position. I've only been able to get to stay in an upper position a few times in the past week, and each time a few hours later I'd lean back, or adjust the angle of back or seat and it would fall back down. It's incredibly frustrating.

I'm considering returning it to Staples, on assumption that I got a unit with poor tolerances, and that a new unit will fix it. Time will tell I suppose! Other than this problem, I think it's the best chair for under $500 on the market. (All I tried were <$500 chairs; it could be better than higher-end ones too.)

I bought this chair, mostly due to the comfort of memory foam.

I spent about 20 minutes in it, and felt it was more comfortable than my old chair, and should do the job.
The chair offers pretty decent adjustability, but the seat back is just not that comfortable to me after longer time in it, and getting adjustments right.
The material, the seat is covered in, has to be my biggest complaint.
Being polyester is fine, but it needs to be a much tighter knit.
I have cats, and them just jumping up on the chair,(should one have a claw out even alittle) and it snags the material and it starts a unravel in that spot.
Assembly was very easy.. probably the easiest I have ever done.
Seat cushion is great.. but the seatback is not tempurpedic material, nor, is it shaped quite right.
The chair could also be alittle heavier built, but it isnt flimsy, or unstable.
Arm rests have good adjustment, but seem to be built for more durability, and less comfort.
If I was to grade this chair in all aspects, Id probably give it a 7 overall.
The price/value Id say it is about average.
Its not a bad chair, just a "good" one.
Maybe the will suit others better than I, but I can't ignore its weaknesses and that's what Im mentioning here.

        Very comfortable. Makes some thumping noises if you bounce up and down on the seat. Probably the pneumantic piston. Seat back is not firmly in place. Would be nice of seat could slide forward. Pricey. Seems like the padding will stay firm since it is Tempurpedic branded and not regular cheap foam.

            I am curious as to what the lever in the front of the chair is for? It has a finger grip and arrows regarding the seat but does not move. I also bought mine off the floor and it has no instructions.

              Yes the back tilt can lock and has tilt tension. The center tilt can lock as well.

              As per the manufacture the back rest of this chair is regular foam, only the seat cushion is Tempur-Pedic.
