Whether you're already a science or engineering professional or a student working to get there, this calculator is a powerful tool for solving complex math problems and creating 3-D graphs with real-time rotation. The calculator comes with 16 preloaded software applications, and you can purchase additional apps from Texas Instruments and other leading developers for even more functionality.
Preloaded with Study Tools
With 16 preloaded software applications, including CellSheet, EE*Pro, Finance, StudyCards, and more, this calculator is ready to work. It has all the tools needed by most students and professionals and is approved for use on the AP, the SAT, and the PSAT/NMSQT exams, making it a valuable tool for the college-bound student.
Powerful Graphing and Display
With a 100 x 160 pixel display, 2.7 MB of flash memory, and 188 KB of RAM, the TI-89 is able to render 3-D graphs with real-time rotation using several different graph functions. The Pretty Print feature also displays equations and their results with radical notation, superscript exponents, and stacked fractions for easy viewing, storing up to 99 past entries for easy review.
Advanced Math Functions
The advanced math functions of the TI-89 calculator allow the use of over 100 symbolic units in 28 categories for algebra, calculus, advanced statistics, and numerous other scientific and mathematic equations, including differential equations solved symbolically, numerically, or graphically.
USB Port and Battery Backup
The included USB cord makes it easy to transfer data to your PC for homework or professional reports, and the calculator supports unit-to-unit connection for easy transfer of data from one calculator to another. The TI-89 requires four AAA batteries-also included-and has a silver oxide battery backup to protect the RAM memory during battery changes. Keep an extra supply of AAA batteries handy to ensure that your calculator works when you need it.
