It actually hurt my ears to use this sharpener but it worked pretty good - for about 3 months. It still makes a lot of noise, but just puts grooves in the pencil and breaks the lead. In other words, it's sharpened it's last pencil and is now in the trash. I recommend that you do not waste your money on this sharpener.

    My Pro was a comfortable grip, that is what I experienced when I threw it in the trash. It is easeir to widdle a pencil tip than to use this. No power, noisy, Complete junk! I do not
    understand why Staples still carries this.
