It actually hurt my ears to use this sharpener but it worked pretty good - for about 3 months. It still makes a lot of noise, but just puts grooves in the pencil and breaks the lead. In other words, it's sharpened it's last pencil and is now in the trash. I recommend that you do not waste your money on this sharpener.

      I bought this for home use. What a waste of my money!! I sharpened about 10 brand new pencils and that was it...doesn't work anymore!! Not happy at all about this purchase. If you are even cosidering buying this for home, let alone an office, forget this one and look for something else.
