Lead too light
This used to be my most favorite pencil ever, but the last ones I've bought are so light I have to turn on a light to see what I've written. PLEASE go back to the old pencils, or make a #1 so the lead is darker.

Good for hard copy editing!
I use these for edit marks on hard copies. Erases easily and completely when I want to demerit my marks or comments.

Two major problems
No longer my favorite. The new version is unusable. The lead is too light. After using the pencil for a short time,(maybe when the lead length gets to a certain length)there is some type of spring action in the pencil that causes the lead to recede back into the barrel while writing. I've thrown away several because of this.

Needs special surfaces
I was very disappointed because when I tried to use this pencil on the newspaper for crossword puzzles, sudokus, etc, it was very difficult to see the letters. I had an older Sharpwriter which worked great, so I was very disappointed when this one did not.

Right Sharp writer
The sharp writer mechanical pencil is quite handy. It’s convenient to use and the lead is just perfect for underlining and mini notes on the edges of what one is reading.

Love this automatic pencil.
Have used this pencil for over 15 years so it’s plain to see I really like it. The lead is firm and doesn’t break. I like that I can roll the lead back toon when not in use. Great pencil.
