Binders are a great organizational tool as they keep papers neatly stored, and can easily be color-coded for differentiation. Three-ring binders are no longer the only option, as grip mechanisms are the latest office supply trend. Another benefit is the multitude of sizes, but a 5/8" option usually provides just the right amount of storage for school or work papers. One of the best features of this product though is the ability to keep papers safe from liquids, creases, and tears.
Unique Grip Binders
One common feature in 5/8" binders is a grip mechanism. Unlike rings, a grip does not require papers to be hole-punched. This is ideal if you do not want to spend time punching holes in all of your papers. Or, for projects that you need to keep the papers intact without holes. Just like a three-ring binder, the grip option still holds papers tightly in the binder. Another popular option is the D-ring as it is easier to load papers into.
Ideal Capacity
The 5/8" binder holds approximately 150 sheets, which is slightly above the 100 sheet capacity of an average one subject notebook. This means it will pair perfectly for students to have a three-ring binder to hold the subject's worksheets and printouts. Most of these binders also hold the standard 8.5" X 11" sized papers.
Keep Papers Secure
Binders are typically made of hard plastic that keeps papers safe from spills, pets, and any other outside force that causes tears or damage. A three-ring or grip binder will also keep papers in place so they do not get disorganized or shuffled around. Some 5/8" options even have special cover materials meant to resist moisture.
