- Wireless dual-/tri-band (2.4GHz, 5GHz) indoor access point designed to deliver ultra-performance connectivity for extreme-density deployments of mobile and IoT
- Features Wi-Fi 6 standard with a combined peak datarate of up to 5.37Gbps
- Can be powered with 802.3at/bt POE (class 4 or higher) on port E0 and/or E1
- Includes an integrated Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy and Zigbee (802.15.4) radio (2.4GHz) to simplify deploying and managing IoT-based location services, asset tracking services, security solutions and IoT sensors
- Features 2 x 100/1000/2500/5000BASE-T RJ-45 HPE SmartRate ports, USB 2.0 Type-A host interface
- AP supports direct DC power and Power over Ethernet
- Supported frequency bands: 2.400 to 2.4835GHz ISM; 5.150 to 5.250GHz U-NII-1; 5.250 to 5.350GHz U-NII-2A; 5.470 to 5.725GHz U-NII-2C; 5.725 to 5.850GHz U-NII-3/ISM; 5.850 to 5.895GHz U-NII-4
- Integrated downtilt omni-directional antennas for 4x4 MIMO in 2.4GHz with peak antenna gain of 4.3dBi, and 8x8 MIMO in 5GHz with peak antenna gain of 5.8dBi in 5GHz; in tri-radio mode, the peak gain of the antennas for each of the 4x4 5GHz radios is 5.5dBi (radio 0L, lower half of 5GHz) and 5.6dBi (radio 0U, upper half of 5GHz)
- Target Wake Time establishes a schedule for when clients need to communicate with an AP to improve client power savings and reduce airtime contention with other clients
- Includes components of Aruba's 360 Secure Fabric to help protect user authentication and wireless traffic
- Can be used to establish a secure SSL/IPSec VPN tunnel to a Mobility Controller that is acting as a VPN concentrator
- For enhanced device assurance, have an installed Trusted Platform Module (TPM) for secure storage of credentials and keys, and boot code
- To simplify policy enforcement it uses Aruba's policy enforcement firewall (PEF) feature to encapsulate all traffic from the AP to the Mobility Controller (or Gateway) for end-to-end encryption and inspection
- Provides connectivity for a maximum of 1024 associated clients per radio (2048 in total)
- Able to operate in either controllerless (Instant) or controller-based mode
