How Do You Clean an HP 731 Ink Printhead?
When users’ prints begin to lose quality, it’s a good sign that their ink has started to dry out. You can prevent this by cleaning your printhead in two ways: manually or through the software setup. Follow the steps below to clean your printhead:
- Your HP printer will have an option to “clean printhead” which normally does a thorough job.
- However, if the problems persist, you can manually clean it after disconnecting the printer from your electrical outlet.
- Once the printer has been unplugged, take a cloth or soft material, remove the ink cartridges and clean the contacts. Then proceed to clean the contacts of the printhead as well.
- Place all items back in the printer and let it run the normal boot up process. Finally, run a print test to make sure the cleaning process worked.
- Make sure to handle the items with care as any damage done could potentially cause more harm than good.
If cleaning the printhead didn’t solve your problem, don’t worry! Staples carries a wide variety of replacement HP printer parts to keep your equipment running smoothly.
